This policy explains what information RPi4U (rpi4u.com) collects when you visit, and how it’s used. We keep data collection to a minimum.
Who we are
RPi4U is a website about choosing and using Raspberry Pi computers. You can contact us at hello@rpi4u.com.
What we collect
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages are useful. It collects information such as pages viewed, how long you stay, your approximate location (country or city), device and browser type. It uses cookies to do this. We do not use it to identify you personally.
- Server logs. Our web host, IONOS, keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running.
- Comments and emails. If you leave a comment or email us, we receive the name, email address and message you send. We only use them to reply or display your comment.
- The Which Pi tool. Your answers stay in your browser. They are not sent to us or stored.
Affiliate links and cookies
When you click an affiliate link, such as a link to Amazon, the retailer may set a cookie so they know the purchase came from RPi4U. That cookie is controlled by the retailer and covered by their own privacy policy. We don’t receive your name or payment details, only a report of the commission earned.
Your choices
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
- You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@rpi4u.com.
Third parties
We use these services to run the site, each with its own privacy policy: IONOS (hosting and email), Google Analytics and Google Search Console (visitor statistics), and affiliate programs such as Amazon Associates. We do not sell your personal information.
Children
RPi4U is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
